steve & brityn. married.

August 22, 2011

Steve & Brityn got married in the gorgeous town of Hermann, MO. An incredibly cool German town filled with wineries and old european style architecture. Their families and friends all came out to this little town to celebrate them and their marriage. It was an amazing time, I hope I did at least an ounce of justice for how great it was.

Enjoy.

i’ve made the change, and this blog will no longer be updated. please go to: http://www.nickallenblog.com to see new updates and what’s happening with nick allen photo.

thanks!

jordan and jason are a really cool couple. i love the access my clients give me into their families and relationships on their wedding day. and this wedding was no exception. easily the highlight of the images i caught on the day was when jordan and jason shared a moment together before the ceremony. they didn’t want to see each other but they just wanted to talk and hold hands. it was an incredibly emotional moment. it’s things like this that i love about documenting weddings. i also had a special attachment to this wedding as it took place in the same church my wife and i got married in. so i really enjoyed photographing someone else as they vowed their love for each other in the same place i had. so i hope you enjoy looking at these as much as i did taking them.

drew and melissa are good friends. drew‘s a photographer, so the pressure was seriously on. even though he reassured me not to be worried, you can’t help but want to meet the expectations of another photographer. so i worked as hard as i could, though it wasn’t hard with their easy-going personalities and deep love for each other. they had been waiting for this day for a really really long time, so i was super honored to play such a special part. here’s to hoping that i did it justice.

enjoy.

caitlin & brian engaged

August 3, 2010

caitlin, brian, and i did a shoot on one fairly hot evening. fortunately we were able to come up with some really great stuff. so here it is, enjoy.

so jessica, jake, and i got together a few weeks ago to do their engagement shoot. i am stoked on these images. we tried out some locations that i hadn’t tried with anyone else before and we finished their shoot at their friend’s property. so i don’t really want to blabber on this thing because i just want you to look at these photos.

kelly & dustin engaged

July 16, 2010

what’s sometimes frustrating about engagement sessions is that there is so many variable that can throw it off. for kelly and dustin we had to reschedule multiple times, weather, sickness, even kelly hitting her head and getting a nasty cut. but we finally made it happen and i am thrilled with the outcome. here they are, enjoy.

sharin a couple of shots for jessica and jake before i leave town on sunday.

taylor and mallory

July 7, 2010

so i went to school with mallory and taylor, but we weren’t like close friends or anything. i got a message on facebook from mallory back in the winter asking about covering her wedding in oklahoma. we worked it out and i drove down the day of the wedding to photograph their big day. let me say up front, taylor and mallory are an awesome couple. their personalities match perfectly. they are really easy going, really fun people.

probably the most efficient way to describe their wedding day is the weather conditions they were up against.

gale force winds.

they just have a “roll with it” attitude. for example, when mallory and her bridesmaids arrived at her hair appointment and found the salon doors locked and no one there, her attitude was unflinching. the girls just immediately began laughing and joking about the experience and called a random hair salon and booked an appointment.

every step of the way there was surprises with their wedding day. when i was waiting to photograph mallory getting into her car before the ceremony i suddenly saw this incredible volkswagon bus drive up, i just had to tag along with her inside because it was awesome. then moments before the ceremony in the bus with mallory and her mom, they realize that the garter is missing. they make a quick stop at mallory’s house and mom runs in to find it. she returns instead with a blue bandana.

to top it all off, mallory decided to have the first dance be between her and her father. about three quarters of the way in taylor stepped in and asked if he could dance with her. then they began what is the typical slow first dance. until of course someone ran out placed a hat on taylor’s head and then michael jackson’s “the way you make me feel” suddenly came on.

mallory and taylor definitely kept me on my toes, but i am really excited about these images. so i’ll stop boring you and let you see them.
